CODEMASH KIDZMASH

Super Art League community sculptures represent themes that reflect parts of a whole working together to make a difference while preserving the individuality of each part. Each attendee (adults and children) paints a block based on what community means to them. Throughout the conference, we assemble the blocks into a sculpture as a visual representation of the community being cultivated. At the end of the conference, each participant is then invited to take someone else’s block back home with them as an extension and inspiration to continue to build safe spaces where everyone is seen, heard, and celebrated.

Building Blocks is a visual, hands-on method developed by the Super Art League that uses jumbo lego blocks and paint sticks to add color and bring a 9-foot character to life. Participants contribute live visuals—such as icons, words, scenery, and expressive scribbles—that gradually fill the character with vibrant color and a sense of community.

This low-key form of graphic facilitation has been proven to spark conversation, increase engagement, and enhance collaboration throughout the conference.

CodeMash was created to bring together and educate developers on current practices, methodologies, and technology trends in a variety of platforms and development languages.

The core mission of the conference is to create an, "accessible, affordable, and [helps us] learn outside our comfort zone" event that fosters a "community-driven, professional, and respectful environment" for networking and continuing conversations.
